Information We Collect. We may collect information that you voluntarily provide to us, such as your email address or phone number if you sign up for our mailing list or to receive SMS or text messages, or the registration information you provide to us when you register to use any of our services that require registration and login (“Sign-in Services”). We may also collect certain information automatically, such as the specific pages you visit and actions you take while visiting the site or using services, the date and time of access, the IP address from which you are connecting to the internet, and the browser software and operating system you are using. Our site and services may also contain web beacons and may store small text files (“cookies”) on your device. We also use various analytics tools to collect and process data, including Google Analytics, which has its own privacy policy and opt-out features described at google.com/policies/privacy/partners.

How We Use Information. We use collected information to operate and improve the site and our services, to develop new programs, to understand and analyze aggregate metrics such as the number of visitors or page views, to provide information and services to you or otherwise communicate with you, to solicit charitable donations, and in any other manner described to you when the information is collected, or to which you give your consent.

How We Disclose Information. We may disclose aggregate and non-personal information (such as the number of visitors to our site) for any purpose. We may disclose your personal information (i) as we reasonably believe is required by law or judicial process, or to otherwise cooperate with law enforcement or other government agencies, (ii) to protect the safety, rights, or property of ourselves or others, (iii) to protect ourselves or others from legal liability or from fraudulent, abusive, or unlawful activity, (iv) to investigate and defend ourselves against any third-party claims or allegations, and (v) to protect the security of the site and the services. We may also disclose personal information in any manner to which you consent, or to any acquirer of THORN or THORN’s assets, such as occurs in a merger, sale of assets, or bankruptcy.

No Commercial Advertisements. THORN is a 501(c)(3) tax-deductible organization supported by charitable donations. We solicit and collect such charitable donations through the site, but do not advertise commercial products or services, or share your personal information with third parties for commercial marketing purposes.

Your Choices. You may adjust your mailing preferences or unsubscribe from our email list by clicking the appropriate links in email you receive from us. You may also decline to share information with us, or may use features provided by your device or web browser to delete cookies or block other data collection mechanisms; but in that case, we may be unable to provide some features of the site or services to you. We do not specifically respond to browser “do not track” features. If you choose to provide additional information about yourself or about third parties during your use of the site or the Sign-in Services, you represent that you have the authority to provide such information to THORN. If you have registered for Sign-in Services, you may choose to delete your Sign-in Services account, after which you will no longer be able to use the Sign-in Services or access the data you have entered in connection with your Sign-in Services account. If you are using Sign-in Services on behalf of your employer or another organization, your employer or organization may also have the right to delete your Sign-in Services account and any associated data.

Please review the privacy policies of such other websites for information about what information they collect and how they use it.

Children’s Privacy. Our site is intended for general audiences, and is not directed to children under the age of 13. If you are a parent or guardian and discover that your child under the age of 13 has entered personal information on our site without your consent, you may alert us at [email protected] and we will take the appropriate steps to delete the information.

Data Security. Although we use safeguards designed to improve security, please be aware that no security measures are perfect or impenetrable. We cannot guarantee that information you provide to us will not be accessed, viewed, altered, disclosed, or destroyed by unauthorized persons.

Changes to this Policy. We may modify this privacy policy from time to time, and will make any such revised policy available on our site. If the modifications materially alter your rights or obligations, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you of the change, such as by email or a pop-up notification the next time you visit the site or use Sign-in Services. Your continued use of the site or services after such a change indicates that you have read, understand, and agree to the revised privacy policy.
